About the Episode:
In today’s episode, we’re talking to John Jonas, the founder of OnlineJobs.ph, the largest online marketplace for finding and hiring talented Filipino workers, where they’ve helped people land more than 100,000 gigs from over 200,000 companies based around the world.
As a software developer by trade, John originally started building Online Jobs back in 2005 as an immediate solution to his own problem of how difficult it was to find skilled and talented virtual assistance (and software developer) help for one of his online businesses at the time.
After going through the painful process of building his own remote team based in the Philippines, John quickly worked to validate the idea for his jobs site with simple postings and some social media marketing the site took off very quickly and continued to grow organically.
This allowed John to take himself out of almost everything in his business—now he works an average of 17hrs/wk and focuses on strategic ways he can outsource more tasks to his remote team.
