About the Episode:
In today’s episode, we’re talking to Pam Slim, the popular blogger, career coach, and author of two highly regarded business books Escape from Cubicle Nation and Body of Work.
Originally from California, Pam built a powerful personal brand for herself in the 1990s and early 2000s as a consultant in the corporate leadership training & development industry.
She scored big-name clients like HP, Cisco, Charles Schwab, Chevron and Office Depot to name a few during her ten-year career as a training consultant. It wasn’t until 2005, while she was taking a class about growing your personal brand, that she decided to start working on her blog and that’s when Escape From Cubicle Nation was born.
From here, she began building relationships with fellow bloggers that covered similar topics related to quitting your day job & growing a small business. On one fateful day, Guy Kawasaki featured her story to his massive readership, and Pam’s blog started growing by leaps and bounds. Shortly thereafter, her own community of readers began to increase, and she started working on her first book, Escape From Cubicle Nation.
