About the Episode:
In today’s episode, we’re talking to Lydia Lee, the career transition coaching extraordinaire behind Screw the Cubicle, where she’s helped hundreds of people to build purposeful businesses and strategically leave their day jobs for good.
Originally from Vancouver, Canada, Lydia has spent most of the last 5 years living the life of a digital nomad and spending the bulk of her time in Bali.
After going straight into the workforce after college and working for years in a corporate job she wasn’t in love with, it was then that Lydia decided to make a change. She took a hard look at what she was good at in her job, the components of it she enjoyed most, and started building a freelance consulting business on the side of her full-time work.
Once she had a little traction with that, Lydia pitched her boss on transitioning out of full-time work for the company, and into a 25hr/wk consulting position doing just the tasks she was best at & enjoyed most.
She helped her boss find people to replace everything else that used to be on her plate, and they struck a win-win deal together. Since then, Lydia’s grown her consulting business, launched her blog Screw the Cubicle and has since transitioned over to working full-time on her blog & with helping her coaching clients to do what she’s done and ditch their day jobs forever.
